DragonflyCMS Modification Service
Posted by Syama_dasa on Sunday, July 13, 2008 (19:32:32) (100 reads)
This CMS (DragonflyCMS) is one of the best out there in term of security, speed, and ease of use. It was rated 4/5 at opensourceCMS by 1040 voters.
I helped create this CMS so i have intimate knowledge of the workings so I can pretty much make it (and php/mysql) do anything, except make breakfast. That's CMS Modification.
You have your choice of many modules, such as a photo gallery, blogs, forums, contact form, news, surveys, wikipedias etc. Your website can have any combination of these, all of them or none. You can also have custom modules designed for your needs.
There is also a large selection of "themes" which you can change the page look. Just look for the Preview theme select box to the left. These themes can be a jump off point for your sites look. pick one and we can create a custom header with your logo or we can create a unique logo for your new business.
There are also a large selection of blocks, which are the informative square things on either side of the main content, these can be displayed on every page or customized per module.
You can look at the following sites to see the variety of "look and feel" you can create from this CMS.
http://setdart.com/
http://larepairfinder.com/
http://ilovemyguru.org/
GVP Book Distribution (under construction)
You can also choose to use any other php/mysql CMS or blog to make your site, and we will modify it to your needs.
Try them out here.

Outsource web desgn?
Posted by Syama_dasa on Sunday, July 13, 2008 (19:58:07) (59 reads)
Don't outsource your webdesign to some overseas web firm because you get what you pay for.
Recently I was asked by an employer to modify some code written by an overseas firm from India. Looking at the code I found it to be sloppy, incomplete (didn't work per spec) and full of security holes. When I asked him if we could contact them to fix it, he said that he had been trying to communicate with them, but that they had not returned his phone calls. I told him it would be more cost effective to rewrite it than to modify it.
That's right $1200 down the drain! Now don't get me wrong there may be good firms out there and I have nothing against India for sure, but from the feedback I've heard on the web this is an over common event. Don't get ripped off because of language barriers and under educated programmers.
Choose CMS MOD PRO for your PHP MySql programming needs. We always start with a secure base, and have been in the online retail business ourselves. Choose a programmer that can make a difference in your organic search engine listings. One that cares if your website works and works good.

Welcome to Dragonfly CMS
Posted by Syama_dasa on Sunday, June 29, 2008 (19:35:09) (44 reads)
Dragonfly CMS is a powerful CMS which delivers the features and bug fixes that you really need. Using Dragonfly, you will enjoy enhanced speed, security, and multiple integrated features. You'll instantly fall in love with its sleek interface, carefully designed modules, fast page loads, and high standards for security.
There are two flavors of Dragonfly ready for immediate deployment—the stable build and the CVS build. We recommend the stable build for production websites, but if you're feeling bold, try the CVS build, our latest and potentially greatest work. However, it could be unstable and may contain bugs. More information on our CVS can be found here.
We wish you luck with your new website, and thanks for joining our global community.

All About Blocks
This is an example of a block. Three different types of blocks exist in Dragonfly™: HTML, System, and File
This block is an example of an HTML block. These blocks can be edited through the administration menu, under the Blocks option
Blocks that are called through the /blocks folder are known as File blocks. These blocks must be placed within this folder under a filename similar to block-*.php
Finally, blocks that cannot be edited through the administration menu or through a file are known as System blocks. By default, only two System blocks exist: "Administration" and "User's Custom Box"
